Solla Solla Inikkum

Romantic entertainers never fail to appeal to the masses.

Knowing this pretty well, filmmaker Murali Abbas, who last directed Ajith starrer Rasi, has come out with one that speaks on the need for honesty, sincerity and integrity among lover couples in today’s techno-savvy world.

Murali Abbas has got the right mix of youngsters and veterans in the film. Navdeep plays the lead role in the company of three girls besides National-award winning actor Prakashraj, Ashish Vidyarthy, and Livingston.

It is a typical naach-gaana movie but Murali Abbas has managed to weave interesting twists and turns into the screenplay which sustain your interest. Navdeep plays a boy-next-door, who likes girls.

Madhumitha, Suja and Mallika Kapoor play the female leads. The director has not made the movie preachy and has laced it with some interesting commercial elements. Sathya (Navdeep), son of Vijayakumar, completes his graduation and spends time with friends— Guru (Abhinay), Sathyan (Sathyan) and others. Life goes on uncomplicated until he meets Sura (Anjali). What starts as friendship turns into love.

Interestingly, when Sathya proposes to Anjali, she turns it down saying that what she had in mind was only friendship and nothing more. Next comes Meghna (Suja). This too ends in the same way. Meghna insists that they part it was all time-pass for her.

Sathya now comes across Radhika (Madhumitha). He becomes close to her and so does his friend Guru. When Sathya decides to inform Radhika of his desire to marry her, she drops a bombshell saying that she and Guru are in love with each other. However Guru has taken her for a ride. After utilising her, Guru deserts her. Steps in Sathya, who ensures that they get married.

Guru seeks counsel from Badrinath (Prakashraj). A do-gooder and an influential man in the society, he takes Guru’s side. Sathya goes hammer and tongs and ensures that all ends well. Also comes Anu (Mallika kapoor) in Sathya’s life.

Navdeep, who played Ajith’s buddy in Aegan, plays a solo hero. He has utilised the opportunity well and so have the others. Abhinay and Sathyan get good screen space. Prakashraj is cool and casual in the role of Badri.

Music by Bharadwaj is catchy and pacy. Unlike his earlier movies, he has come up with some westernised tunes without dominating the lyrics. But walking away with applause is cinematographer Arthur Wilson. Solla Solla Inikkum is a romantic entertainer for target audience - the youngsters.
